Low Carb Minty Green Protein Smoothie Recipe

We have been thoroughly enjoying our time here in Maui and I hope you have been thoroughly enjoying the recipe revamp posts I have been sharing on the blog while I’m away. Today I’m taking the flashlight back onto this excellent and healthy mint chocolate green protein smoothie recipe that I initially liked on food in the kitchen.

The unique ingredients that give this smoothie it’s bright green colour is my favourite smoothie just like this one and not tasty it at all. It’s many sophisticated elements that combine so well with fruits in a smoothie that you don’t even know it’s there aside from the colour and even the colour can mask with fruits like raspberries and blueberries.

With the combination of chocolate protein powder, frozen banana, spinach, almond milk, coconut nectar, peppermint extract and chopped dark chocolate this smoothie tastes sweet, creamy and chocolate and not as if it contains any leaf green at all.

I made a little creative with my styling when I evaluated this recipe and chose to create this beautiful chocolate swirl on the glass and over the top of the keto smoothie. This is not necessary and a step that can be skipped right by if you are short for time.


  • ¼ cup avocado mashed
  • ¼ cup 2% vanilla Greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup vanilla protein powder
  • ½ tbsp agave
  • ¼ tsp peppermint extract
  • ¾ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • ½ cup kale firmly packed
  • ½ cup ice
  • 1 tbsp mini chocolate chips
